Over the Line

OTL Miss Emerson Contest

Miss Emerson is more than just the OMBAC spokes model. Each year at Over the Line a committee of OMBAC members is given the responsibility of selecting a new Miss Emerson. The task is not an easy one. They are looking for a beach beauty who carries herself with style and grace. Out of all the qualified contestants one will be crowned Miss Emerson based on her interview with the committee and her stage presence during the competition. The lucky contestant who wins the title of Miss Emerson can look forward to an exciting year.

OTL: Pets and Kids

Quick comment for those who haven't attened the tournament before... there are really 4 B's to remember:

No Bottles
No Babies
No Bowsers
No Bikes

Why you ask? Bottles are generally glass and glass in the sand is not good, plus it hurts a lot less if some drunk throughs a can at you!

Babies you ask? Sand gets in EVERYTHING, everyone is drinking, it's hot and well just not a good idea.

Important Over the Line Links

Everything you need to know about the infamous Over The Line Tournament in San Diego can be found on one of these sites:

OMBAC - Old Mission Bay Athletic Club, these are the guys the run the tournament itself.

Bus Routes to get to Fiesta Island.

Bikini Survivor - growing collection of stuff from events like OTL.

OTL Teams for Sale

I have contacts for one Men's and one Women's Open team that had to cancel and their spots are up for sale. You'd have to start playing as early at 7:30 am tomorrow morning. Let me know if you are interested and I will provide their phone numbers.

Ron LaPolice will be missed

At the place where Ron LaPolice last held forth at the OMBAC World Championship Over-The-Line Tournament, there will be a set of his shoes bronzed and fittingly set a stride apart for this year's event.

The display will honor an OTL original. LaPolice's footsteps are all over this San Diego blend of athletic pastime and beach culture, which enters its 54th year tomorrow with the start of two weekends of play at Fiesta Island.
